President's Challenge Appreciation Night 2019
The QaneBrella Team was invited to the President's Challenge Appreciation Night 2019 to meet Mdm President Halimah Yacob and present her with a special edition seasonal QaneBrella handcrafted by our craftsmen at Bizlink.
Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan 90th Anniversary Celebration Dinner 2019
Ian Hao and Ing Le represented the QaneMate team at the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan 90th Anniversary Celebration Dinner in 2019. They interacted with many Poit Ip Huay Kuan members and showed off the QaneMate at the celebration of the Singapore Bicentennial.
Yusarn Audrey 20th Anniversary Celebration
Ian Hao and Ing Le were present at the Yusarn Audrey 20th Anniversary Celebration to meet with Guest Of Honour Ms. Sim Ann and other accomplished guests that evening.
Tech for Elders Exhibition @ Harbourfront National Library
QaneMate was exhibited at the Harbourfront National Library as part of the Tech for Elders exhibition in October 2019.
Marine Parade To-Care-Ther Social Networking Session 2019
Close to 130 participants representing 40 different organisations attended the Social Networking Session, including schools, businesses, government and community agencies, VWOs and religious organisations. The QaneMate Team set up a booth to meet with representatives and ESM Goh Chok Tong, Guest of Honour at the event.
YFC Social Bazaar 2019 @ Asia Square
As part of the Citi-YMCA YFC Programme 2019, our Project QaneBrella Team attended the Social Bazaar to get our product out to people on the street.
SmartHealth Summit 2019
The QaneMate Team returned to the French Chamber of Commerce SmartHealth Summit for a 2nd year in a row. We met with French ambassador to Singapore Mr. Marc Abensour and updated our progress from last year.
STEP Sociovation Forum 2019
STEP Sociovation Forum 2019 explored three main social themes: ageing, disability and environment sustainability through visits to community partners such as WOW Kampung, Dignity Kitchen and St Luke’s Eldercare. Using design-thinking frameworks, participants then came up with innovative ideas that may be applied to the social, public, or private sector. Ian Hao was invited as the guest speaker for the opening ceremony.
CCA Walk 2018: Walk The Extra Mile With Me
The Children's Charities Association of Singapore (CCA) annual fair aims to help less privileged children under the care of its 6 member charities with more than 60,000 beneficiaries. Qanemate supported the CPAS organisation booth there. The day's programme was kicked-off with the Walkathon followed by the opening ceremony of the Fair.

We collaborated with CPAS artist Mr. Ang Wei Lun to use the QaneBrella as a platform for his art.
Partnering with AXA
As part of AXA’s safer mobility efforts, AXA is sponsoring and donating 300 Qanemates to its corporate responsibility partners, Singapore Cancer Society and SportCares.
Equal Ark Charity Gala 2018
35 at-risk youth and youth with special needs were recognised during Equal-Ark's gala dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel. Attended by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung, the attendees were recognised for the social skills they displayed during local charity group Equal-Ark's youth development programme.
The Purple Parade 2018
The QaneMate Team participated at The Purple Parade 2018. The Purple Parade is a unifying national platform to promote awareness and celebrate abilities of people with special needs. The core of The Purple Parade movement is to ensure that people with special needs are included in the main chapter of Singapore’s growth and have equal access to education, employment, transport and social networks.
SPD Ability Walk 2018
The QaneMate Team participated in the annual SPD Ability Walk and Carnival 2018. It aims to provide an opportunity for people of different abilities to walk together and serves to promote inclusion and raise awareness of disabilities. The Sports Qane made its debut at this event.
SmartHealth Symposium 2018 @ French Chamber Of Commerce
SmartHealth brings together the French expertise in the healthcare sector to address the context of Singapore’s healthcare needs. Themed “The Innovative and Digital Healthcare Leap”, it highlights trends and new technologies that are shaping the landscape and explores perspectives on how innovation can be rapidly integrated to deliver tomorrow’s healthcare solutions.
Emtech Asia 2018: Singapore
The Qanemate Team participated in Emtech Asia to listen to the speeches by 'Innovators Under 35' and interact with other young innovators.
NYEA 2017 Booth Exhibition
The Qanemate Team set up a booth at the 2017 National Youth Enterpreunership Awards. Their booth was visited by Dr. Koh Poh Koon, the Guest Of Honour at the event.
Meeting US Military Veteran Mr. Jimmy Lau
We presented US Pacific History Park and veteran volunteer Mr. Jimmy Lau with a Qane as a salute to his countless years of service in 2017.
Fundraising for Hurricane Harvey Victims
In 2017, Hurricane Harvey destroyed multiple old folks and eldercare centres in Houston, leaving many elderly vulnerable and without shelter. We raised more than $400 SGD in collaboration with the SG and US Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey victims.
Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology 2017
The Qanemate Team represented EDGE at the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) from 18 to 20 September. SWITCH is an avenue for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas.
Qanes in Hong Kong
In June 2017, the Qanemate team travelled to Hong Kong to attend the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2017. During this event, we donated 70 Qanemates to the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and reached out to many elderly.
Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation (MSIWF) Event
The Qanemate Team participated in the MSIWF Event to give a speech to Minister Heng Chee Hao, Mr. Alan Wilson, Mr. Yoshihito Nomura, and the awardees of the MSIFW Research Grant in 2016 and 2017.
Qanes @ Ang Mo Kio
On January 25th 2017, Ian Hao and Ing Le distributed 20 Qanes to seniors at Ang Mo Kio senior activity centres under blocks 406, 420 & 469 in collaboration with COMNET Senior Services.
Qanes @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital
Ian Hao and Ing Le donated 50 Qanes to the Centre for Geriatric Medicine in January 2017. "It's always better to give than to receive." These two young inventors have taken the lead to drive home the message that young Singaporeans can play a bigger role in helping people in need and that "no one is too young to make a difference, or too old to care." We are excited to share these with the patients who need them!
Gift-a-QaneMate
In the spirit of giving, the kids gifted 20 Qanes to our TeamSG sporting pioneers as a token of appreciation and recognition of the contributions these pioneers have made. They spent 3 days travelling door to door; look at all the smiles they've brought forth!
Cheering on Aunty Alvina
At the ASEAN Para-Games, we went to the Yishun SAFRA to cheer for our favourite para-athlete, Ms Alvina Neo. After she took home the bronze medal in shooting, we gave her the CrutchMate; an alternative to the QaneMate for crutch-users.
Meeting Up with SAFVL Veterans
On Memorial Day May 2016, we visited the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans League (SAFVL) to give a short presentation and to honor our veterans with Qanemates.
